Habitat for Humanity

For our second volunteering event this year, the team headed to Monmouth County, NJ to team up with Habitat for Humanity for the day. Habitat is currently renovating an old home into a new facility for Lunch Break, a non profit which will use the location as a career center. Lunch break was founded in 1893 and provides food, clothing, and educational life skills to those in need throughout Monmouth County, NJ. The new career center will help teach career skills such as how to create a resume, seek employment and how to conduct a proper interview. The location was donated to Lunch Break but was in need of major updates and an extreme makeover before it can be put to use. EP got to help with the demolition and gutting of the inside of the location. The team took hammers, chisels and even sledge hammers to break down the walls, ceilings and everything in between, and filled up 10 yard dumpster with all the debris. This was the first step for the remodeling of the home and we were happy to help Habitat begin the process.

It was a great day out in New Jersey and another rewarding experience for the team. Not to mention a fun way to take out any stress!

Habitat for Humanity is always looking for volunteers for their ongoing projects, please visit their website if you would like to get involved.
