EP join’s in on an important mission with Volunteers of America, Operation Backpack.
Each year through Operation Backpack®, Volunteers of America-Greater New York ensures every student living in a New York City domestic violence or homeless shelter is equipped with a new backpack and grade-specific school supplies before their first day of school. New York City has witnessed a staggering 53% increase in the number of children experiencing homelessness in NYC since last year, in part due to the influx of asylum-seeking families entering the shelter system, and the cost of school supply kits and backpacks have more than doubled because of inflation. To provide for these 23,000+ students in need, VOA relies 100% on corporate and community partners, through sponsorship and volunteer support, to fund the campaign and provide for these students so that they have the tools they need to succeed and thrive in school.
At EP, we believe in investing in the future and that starts with each child. Being able to assist in this worthy cause to ensure each child has the right tools to succeed this year was a truly fulfilling experience for our team.
