EP partnered with GrowNYC for a full day of “farming” on Governors Island last month. GrowNYC’s mission is to improve New York City’s quality of life through environmental programs that transform communities block by block and empower all New Yorkers to secure a clean and healthy environment for future generations.
To start off the day, the EP team met the GrowNYC at the downtown Manhattan ferry terminal and enjoyed a scenic ride over to Governors Island. Throughout the day the team assisted with spreading topsoil and mulch, harvesting herbs and vegetables and painted garden signs. It was a full day enjoyed by all at the urban farm. We enjoyed assisting GrowNYC as they help New Yorkers secure a clean and healthy environment for future generations.
