EP Engineering and Heitler Houstoun Architects came together on Clean Market’s new location at 238 East 54th Street. Clean Market is a shop dedicated to inspiring its patrons to incorporate healthy habits into their everyday lives. The space is multi-faceted, incorporating treatment rooms, lounge areas, and retail space into one seamless location. EP designed all the MEP systems for the space and worked closely with the architect and design team to ensure that the engineering design was effectively integrated around the high-end finishes of the space.
Challenges:
- Coordinate exhaust requirements for specialized cryogenic chamber room.
- Design of air conditioning systems for varying room types and comfort requirements.
Achievements:
- Worked with equipment manufacturers and leveraged our relationships with HVAC vendors to design a code-compliant exhaust system.
- Existing AC units were reused, and new units were added in order to provide separate control for each space type (treatment, lounge, retail, etc.).
