Hive & Colony Multiple Locations in the US
Engineering challenges
- With a focus on high-quality materials in finishes in their product, Hive & Colony needs spaces with the same visual appeal. The main challenge of this MEP design was to meet Hive & Colony’s aesthetic expectations, while maintaining code compliance as well as industry standard design practices. The MEP designs also needed to adhere to the retail landlord’s strict technical criteria.
Engineering outcomes
- We worked closely with Heitler Houstoun architects to ensure that MEP systems were seamlessly and imperceptibly integrated into the architecture and millwork at each location. By strategically placing access panels and consolidating equipment into back-of-house areas, we were able to create the aesthetic and Hive & Colony demands, without compromising on the function of the MEP systems.
