Reiss World Trade Center

EP Engineering recently teamed up with Lynch Eisinger Design Architects on the newest retail store fit out for prominent UK-based fashion brand, Reiss. The clothing store is located in the newly opened Westfield World Trade Center, complete with high end finishes & lighting and sky-high ceilings. EP designed all the MEP systems for the space and worked closely with the architect and design team to ensure that the engineering design blended in seamlessly with the modern style that’s synonymous with the Reiss brand.

Engineering challenges

  • Designing mechanical and sprinkler systems to conform with complex and detailed ceiling layouts.
  • Working within the confines of strict Westfield and Port Authority guidelines, while still adhering to strict deadlines.

Engineering outcomes

  • Attendance at frequent site meetings ensured that any questions, issues or changes during construction were addressed immediately and allowed for the grand opening to take place as scheduled.
  • Sheet metal plans were carefully reviewed with the contractor and architect to address conflicts and maintain the nearly 17’-0” ceiling heights.
