EP is happy to have had their first in person volunteering event since the start of the pandemic.
What better way to start of the year than by visiting a local animal shelter?
Founded in 1967, Animal Haven is a nonprofit organization that finds homes for abandoned cats and dogs throughout the Tri-State area. They also provide behavior intervention when needed to help improve the chances of adoption.
The EP team spent the afternoon at the shelter located in downtown Manhattan. We got to work by assisting the shelter workers with all the work needed to care for the residents. The team assisted with walking dogs, feeding the cats, cleaning kennels and even giving a few puppies a much needed bath.
The fun twist of this event was having “Yappy Hour”. During the last hour, we got a chance to enjoy some beverages while socializing with the newest puppies at the shelter. It was certainly a fun and playful way to end the day!
If you have room in your hearts (and home!) we encourage you to check your local animal shelter to take home an animal who is searching for their forever home.
