The New York City Department of Transportation released a special “Holiday Construction Embargo” for select streets throughout New York City. The Embargo shall be in effect from 6AM to 11:59PM, starting Thursday, November 15, 2018 through Wednesday, January 2, 2019. During this time, roadway and sidewalk construction activities will be restricted. Waiver requests for construction activities in areas affected by the Embargo will only be accepted in special circumstances and can only be submitted in person at the NYCDOT Construction Permits Central Office at 55 Water Street. Waivers are not required for ongoing construction permits which already include the Holiday Embargo permit stipulation “410”. All other permit requests may be submitted online and will be processed as usual.
